Miguel Eckstein's Mellichamp Initiative in Mind & Machine Intelligence will host two public virtual lectures over Zoom next week. All are welcome to attend these engaging presentations as we explore the impact of AI on our daily lives. AI promises to bring great benefits in many domains by automating repetitive duties, speeding up processes, and freeing humans to focus on creative tasks. On the other hand, the use of AI systems can have unintended consequences, from unexpected decision making processes, to malicious manipulations.

One industry that AI can greatly enhance and seriously imperil is healthcare. In these two webinars, Prof. Rachael Callcut, UC Davis (photo on the left), and Prof. Glenn Cohen (photo on the right), Harvard University, will explore the bright (Rachael) and potentially dark (Glenn) side of using AI in healthcare.
