Prof. Miguel Eckstein, PI of the VIU Lab, was awarded the prestigious UCSB Mellichamp Academic Initiative to study intelligent systems, both human (Minds) and artificial (Machines).
UC Santa Barbara, through a generous gift from Duncan and Suzanne Mellichamp, has selected Miguel Eckstein's proposal to support a new campus Academic Initiative on Mind and Machine Intelligence. The Mellichamp Initiative in Mind and Machine Intelligence brings together faculty across several departments (including Psychological & Brain Sciences, Computer Science, and Economics) to focus on collaborative projects investigating the similarities, differences, and interactions between the human mind and intelligent machines.
