I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering at University of Tehran, Iran. Later, I joined Neuroscience Graduate Program at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey and received my M.S. in Neuroscience. In 2019, I will join the VIU lab as a Ph.D. student in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at UCSB. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, reading books, chatting about space, philosophy, and the future of AI and humanity.
I am interested in exploring the intersection of human and machine intelligence. Specifically, I am interested in using Deep Neural Networks to understand the similarities and differences between machine and human visual perception and getting inspiration from human visual search and attention to design better AI (e.g. for medical image diagnosis).
